Our Story
Hi! I’m Ellier, founder of Ellure.
I’m a high school science teacher turned digital nomad who loves exploring the world and dabbling in new things. After traveling to 29 countries and living in several along the way, I’ve learned to value jewelry that can go wherever life takes me. Living nomadically taught me that I don’t need — or even want — a lot of possessions. I’d rather own a few beautiful, durable pieces that can keep up with a life on the go.
I’ve loved jewelry for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I made my own with Swarovski crystals — and yes, I even sold them. But as I got older, I started to question why beautiful, well-made jewelry had become something many people felt they couldn’t afford. High-quality jewelry shouldn’t be a privilege reserved for the wealthy. Everyone deserves to wear pieces they’ll love for years to come.
That question hit hardest when it came to engagement and wedding jewelry. The idea that a couple should start their life together in debt over a gemstone never made sense to me. The diamond industry has spent decades convincing us that a diamond is the true symbol of love. Through clever marketing, it created the perception that diamonds are rare and worth the premium price.
Then, I discovered moissanite, and my science brain went into overdrive.
Here was a gemstone with even more fire and brilliance than a diamond, thanks to its higher refractive index. It ranks 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it the second hardest gemstone to exist. The more I researched, the more convinced I became: Moissanite isn’t a compromise. It’s simply a smarter choice.
Ellure exists because I believe love and everyday luxury shouldn’t break the bank. Whether you’re saying “yes,” celebrating a personal milestone, traveling the world, or simply adding a little sparkle to an ordinary Wednesday, you deserve jewelry that’s beautiful, durable, and made to be lived in.
I hope you find something you love as much as I loved building Ellure.
